Vibes for the boy is needed. Message from the YM to say Sox is lame in walk and has swelling in his leg but it goes down on walking. Went down tonight and apart from a scab on his armpit. A larger wind gull on the inside of his bear fore cannon and a small amount of heat in his cor band. There wasn't a lot. I have cold hosed him. He isn't on 3 legs. Going to monitor him and if no better in the next few days I will keep him in and bute him.

Right .. so in the school in walk he is 1/10 lame. On the hard more so. We have started him on some Bute from last night (apparently walked out much better this morning). We have reduced his turnout incase of lami. He has swelling down his cannon that goes down on movement. I have been in hand walking him and cold hosing. Going to see how he is when we finish the bute trial.

How old is Sox? Do you think it is an age thing (ie arthritic changes) or an accident in the field thing?
He is 20.
He has a dx of arthritis all over really and navicular he has also had lami in the past. Thinking more he has done it in the field. But not sure.

He actually seemed to walk out much better today. Or I am just getting used to it :(

Have you tried a course of Bozmerix - sachets - one a day in feed.

Yes it does cost but it is worth it imho. My horse is 32yo and it is the difference of him walking, striding out happily or barely moving.
