EQWAX mane and tail conditioner

I've just tried this for the first time and I'm very impressed, I'd certainly recommend it.

Luka has a typical thick cob tail and I leave it untouched over the winter, then put off sorting it out in the spring as it needs a fair bit of teasing out to untangle and return it to it's proper glory - it can be a long job. So a good test for a new conditioner, and I was expecting to use most of the pot to sort it out. In reality I used a couple of 10p sized dollops and that was more than was needed! My brush just glided through as the tangles disappeared - no pulling, no breaking, the whole tail was done in a few minutes! What was left on the brush was enoughto run through his mane too.

Given it contains lemongrass and neem I'll be interested to see if it heelps keep the midges away, but even if it dosn't it's well worth the money. Thankfully I can't smell the neem in it just the lemongrass.

I've not heard of that - will keep an eye out and see if our feed place stock it. Zi has a lovely thick mane but it does take quite a bit of sorting. Storm's tail is magnificent but a labour of love to comb through.

Oo that sounds good, I’m interested how long the effects last, will you report back when you next find it needs reapplying? I just find some seem good but need frequent reapplication.

I'll let you know @Jessey though I'm not one for brushing tails every day - maybe I'll have to for a while to give you some feedback. Interestingly the midges weren't around him tonight though they wer bothering his friend and horses in the next field.

No don’t daily brush for me, I never do but you kind of know when it needs doing again anyway!

That’s a great review. Sounds like it worked a treat on Luka’s tail. Good to know you don’t need much and it doesn’t smell of neem. I might give it a go myself.

Not bad for a few minutes going through a tail that hadn't been touched all winter. This was taken this morning, his tail was done yesterday morning and it took no time at all to run a brush through it this morning with no extra product.

In a word, yes!

After the winter it normally takes me a couple of sessions to work through Luka's (he gets bored and then tries to liven things up) but I literally rubbed a dollop of this on my hands, ran it fairly evenly through his tail (unwashed) and it brushed straight through.

Brushed it out again this morning and because i was feeling lazy I put a small amount onagain, I think the wind and rain on Saturday night and part of Sunday had taken a bit of a toll. That said I'd have worked through it if I'd been willing to spend a bit more time on it.

This week I've been putting a small amount through his tail every couple of days, not because it's needed to keep it looking good and easy to groom but because it's so good at keeping away flies and midges. My apologies to anyone who was wanting a longer review of it just as a conditioner/detangler.
